Welcome & Outreach
The Welcome and Outreach Committee is responsible for encouraging our congregation to extend compassion and helpfulness to the needy, ill and aging in our community.  It is also the responsibility of this committee to help our congregation members reach out to one another and to the strangers in our midst as well as to promote a feeling of welcoming, belonging and unity within our church.

Welcome Desk

Each Sunday members are needed to staff the Welcome Desk which is located in the narthex.  Information is available for members and visitors about our church.  We ask visitors for contact information so that we are able to connect with them following their visit.  Congregation members sign the calendar to serve at the Welcome Desk about one Sunday every two months. This is an important outreach every Sunday morning.

Splashing Around-

This is a quarterly newsletter developed by this committee that is sent out to all baptismal families for three years.  The newsletter contains information for helping young parents develop faith-centered activities in their home through devotions, family crafts, activity ideas and reading suggestions.

New Members-

People who have indicated their interest in joining the Trinity congregation can do so by attending an orientation meeting and worship service which are scheduled about four times per year.  If you are interested in joining Trinity Lutheran Church, please call the church office at 763-295-2092.  Your information will be given to members of this committee and you will be contacted by a committee member. We are part of the Christian Community both worldwide and here in Monticello, and we encourage new members to find their part in the church.

Prayer Shawl Ministry-

Volunteers knit and crochet prayer shawls to be given to congregation members and others for comfort and encouragement during times of joy, loss, illness or another type of special need.  This same group also creates blankets for babies being baptized and shawls for confirmands.

Community Outreach-

Committee take part in various community and church activities to promote our church to residents in Monticello or prospective new members.  Welcome and Outreach will have booths at Spring Fest, the Fall Boutique and Walk ‘n Roll.

Outreach within the congregation-

To connect members with the mission of the congregation. We encourage all members to reach out to others in need, in particular by doing visiting, running errands and reaching out to others in love; to be Christ’s hands in the world. One area that comes up is volunteering for helping homebound people. As needs develop recordings of church services are delivered to people who are homebound.
