Social Ministry Committee
The social ministry committee is very active at Trinity Lutheran Church. The committee supports many different projects both locally and globally, such as:
- Selling Fair-Trade coffee, tea, and chocolate
- Collecting donations for the Monticello Food Shelf
- Representing Trinity on the Christian Social Services board
- Volunteering at the Monticello Clothes Shelf/Food Shelf
- Supporting the Lutheran World Relief Hunger Appeal
- Organizing hearts for the Giving Tree
- Highlighting Child Abuse Prevention month in April
- Delivering Meals-on-Wheels in July
- Collecting socks for the Salvation Army's Harbor Lights Center
- Donating gift bags for the Wright County Crisis Nursery
- Collecting used shoes for Soles 4 Souls
- Recycling used cell phones and accessories for Eco-Cell
- Collecting used eye glasses for Lions organization
- Promoting awareness of global warming issues
- Buying animals through Heifer International
- Collecting books for Africa
- Preparing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child
- Sending care packages to soldiers overseas
- Collecting gift cards and gifts for Rivers of Hope
- Collecting prescription bottles for hospitals in Guatemala
